Abuja, April 27, 2026 – A prosecution witness in the $6 billion Mambilla Power Project trial confirmed Monday that the Federal Executive Council (FEC) minute at the center of the case came directly from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).

Ugochukwu Christian Okoli, the fourth prosecution witness, told the FCT High Court that he processed the EFCC’s request for the extract, certified it, and forwarded it to the commission.

The documents relate to the 2003 memo presented by former Minister of Power, Olu Agunloye, on the 3,960MW hydroelectric project awarded to Sunrise Power Transmission Company Limited.

Justice Jude Onwuegbuzie adjourned the trial to Thursday, April 30, 2026, for cross-examination of the witness.

The case, which has captured national attention, revolves around allegations of official corruption and fraudulent contract award.
