Rep Atu empowers Enugu youths with digital skills, AI trainings

The member representing Enugu North/Enugu South federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep. Chimaobi Atu has empowered over 50 youths with digital skills, soft skill and training on the applications of Artificial Intelligence.

In addition, the beneficiaries received latest brand new laptops with which they will commence practice of ICT businesses with the training they received.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke at the inauguration of their training, in Enugu on Friday, said that they have become proud web designers and developers, data analysts, video editors and other forms of digital skills.

They pledged not to subject their trainings, particularly on artificial intelligence, to negative uses and gave appreciations to Rep Atu for uplifting them from obscurity to knowledge economy.

Mentoring the trainees, Rep Atu asked the them to employ critical thinking more than just artificial intelligence in the use of their skills, advising that there are laid down ethics in the use of artificial intelligence.

Atu said, "I'm happy that Nigerian youths are getting more vibrant and that is all about the changing world which we need to equally change in the same direction.

"You should apply your discretion in the application of artificial intelligence and you your computers. You should use your heads ahead of time. We expect you to use the tools you have acquired judiciously. Nigeria will be better if our youths can use what they have learnt to make things better. Do that for yourself, for Nigeria and for the world."
