Atiku mourns as El-Rufai loses family member on Sallah day
Atiku Abubakar in paying condolences to his party man, Nasiru El-Rufai, stoked the emotion of alleged President Bola Tinubu's repression on opposition in Nigeria
It was a mournful Eid-al-fitrin in Kaduna state on Friday as a prominent stalwart of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Chieftain, Malam Nasiru El-Rufai lost a member of the dynasty.
Hajiya Safiya Ali Rufai, a prominent member of the family passed away on Sallah day. Popularly called Aunty Safiya in the family, she was the wife of the late Air Vice Marshal Ali Rufai, elder brother of Nasir El-Rufai.
The family remembers Aunty Safiya as a compassionate matriarch of the family.
Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, in a Facebook post said, "It is unfortunate that this loss coincides with the period during which the former Governor of Kaduna State and a key figure of the ADC is being politically detained by the Tinubu-led APC administration.
"I pray that Almighty Allah grants comfort to the family and friends, forgives the matriarch her sins, and grants her Jannah Firdaus. Amin. -AA"
