BREAKING: Obi, Atiku, Kwankwaso lead as 'Save Democracy Protests' Rock Abuja
Save Democracy Protest in Abuja

The Federal capital territory Abuja, is currently on hot spot with political concerned members protesting the derailing of Nigeria's democracy.

The protest is being led by the Frontline presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Mr. Peter Obi; the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar; former Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso and many other opposition leaders.

Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) de-recognized leadership of the main opposition political party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC), while a majority of Nigerian politicians have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

With APC boasting of having 32 out of 36 states, there have been concerns that Nigeria is moving towards a one party state.

Different protesters have taken different parts of the Abuja capital city chanting songs such as "Amupitan Must Go", a call for removal of INEC chairman, Prof Josh Amupitan.

Some protesters are at the INEC, office, while many were seen wearing “Operation Save Our Democracy” T-shirts, while others carried red and white placards with various messages on it.

Videos in circulation show protesters and some prominent politicians.

The atmosphere at the venue was full of energy as protesters chanted songs “We no go gree,” with some chanting “INEC Chairman Amupitan must go”.
