The Chief Executive Officer of First Choice Afro Villa Ltd, Dr. Jerry Patrick Onuokaibe, has extolled the intervention of the Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, on the Mburubu road in Nkanu East local government area of the state.

Onuokaibe stated that the road construction has now cut travel time from Enugu to Mburubu from three hours to about 20 minutes, noting that the Governor's re-election is “a done deal” due to his visible projects across Enugu State.

Speaking with newsmen in Enugu on Sunday, Onuokaibe said growing support for Mbah reflects appreciation for “smart schools, Type 2 hospitals, roads, and other infrastructure that are either functional or near completion” across localities.

He noted that Mbah’s infrastructural drive has reached Mburubu, where he said a smart school, Type 2 hospital, and road projects with drainage are “over 97% completed.”

“Through Governor Mbah, transportation from Enugu to my area, Mburubu, which used to take three hours, is now about 20 minutes because of the massive road construction in the area. What normally takes three hours’ drive from Enugu now takes about 20 minutes. Isn't that incredible? What can someone call government presence more than that?”

He added that “no single vote from his area would be found wanting during the 2027 general elections,” pledging his support and that of the Mburubu community.

Addressing criticism of the governor, Onuokaibe likened opposition claims to the last moves of a fading group, saying that they are surprised at Enugu’s progress under Mbah.

“They expected people to react to their claims that are full of lies, but that has not happened. The people are focused on what is on ground,” he said.

On Mbah’s decision to join the All Progressives Congress, Onuokaibe, who also heads Mburubu Construction Company, said it was “the right call for both political and development reasons” and has brought “more stability to the growth of the state.”

He dismissed suggestions that Enugu has declined since the switch, stating that “development projects are ongoing, government activities are steady, and the people continue to benefit from policies that are improving their daily lives across wards.”

“People who say things have gone down are not being fair to what is happening. You can travel across the state and see projects at different stages. The government is working, and the impact is clear in many areas,” he said.

Onuokaibe maintained that “for us at the grassroots, we are seeing progress, and that is what should guide public discussion, not fear or wrong impressions.”
