Breaking: Ezimo Agu gets Catholic parish

The Catholic Bishop of Nsukka Diocese, Most Rev Prof Godfrey Onah has created Ezimo Agu parish with Annunciata Catholic church Urukpa Ezimo in Udenu local government area of Enugu State as the centre.

Joy came the way of the parishioners after the Diocesan announcement which collided with the 65th Independence anniversary celebration on Nigeria.

The new parish is taking off with already built up magnificent Church, a parish house and boys quarter facilitated by the Deputy Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Barrister Ifeanyi Ossai.

In a press statement signed by the chairman of Urukpa Brothers Movement UBM Phrm. Charles Ndu (Life) and secretary, Oliver Ossai, expressed gratitude to the Bishop and the Diocesan community for approving the parish.

The statement recalled that Urukpa community has been a huge of Catholic from time immortal, noting that Annunciata Catholic Church started her journey from Saint Patricks Catholic Church Obollo Eke, to Ezimo parish before actualizing her own parish, Ezimo Agu.

"It is our firm believe that the parish would boost spiritual well-being of our people, fight criminalities and promote development."

The statement described Catholic church as an organ of development that has built schools, hospitals social homes and expressed readiness of the community to partner with church for overall good of the church and people at large.
