Enugu splits into parties
The House of Representatives member for Enugu East/Isi-Uzo Federal Constituency, Prof Paul Nnamchi, who won the 2023 election under the platform of the Labour Party, LP, has defected to the All progressives Congress, APC.
Nnamchi announced his change of his political party on the floor of the National Assembly on Tuesday.
According to the Nnamchi, his decision was informed by the internal crisis within his former political party and his desire to support and align with the policies and programmes of the APC-led Federal Government.
His letter of resignation was read on the floor by House the Speaker of House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas who also announced the resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, of Hon. Peter Akpanke from Obanliku/Obudu/Bekwara Federal Constituency of Cross River State.
