Goodness to mankind resonated at Awka, Anambra state, during the weekend, when an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) holder in Marketing, Mr David Ebiloma Okpenye, whose job is commercial tricycle operation, picked and returned a missing cell phone belonging to a media practitioner, Mr. Tony Ezike.

Consequent upon this show of good citizenship, the Association of Non Indigenes in Anambra State (ANIAS) through it's National President Prince Chigozie Nweke conferred on Keke rider the Youth leader and Ambassador of the body for Kogi residents in Anambra state.

Ezike, the owner of the phone had, last Saturday, evening lost two phones, a Samsung and the other Tecno at Aroma junction Awka but a friend of his Mr Victor Obiesie whom Okpenye approached at his shop confirmed the lost of the two phones but Okpenye saw only the Samsung phone.

Okpenye took the phone home expecting a call but non came hence the following morning he reported at the Police B Division Station and left his phone number with the police.

Later that Sunday morning the owner of the phone Mr Tony Ezike through his friend Mr Ceasar Obidile visited the B Division Police Station where he and Okpenye met and it was confirmed the phone belongs to him .

Narrating the turn of events Okpenye a graduate of the Federal Polytechnic Ida in Kogi state said, "I am doing this my Keke business to raise money to further my education after graduating from school.

"Last night, I was riding my Keke from Ifite road Awka and on my way I saw a phone on the ground and picked it and I was waiting for the owner to call and that night nobody called and I approached a man that has a Bar and asked if anyone lost his or her phone and the man said a friend of his lost his two phones "

"I told him that I only saw one phone and he said that the one that I have belongs to his friend and I gave him my phone number to call me the following day that I am taking the phone to the Police Station. The Bar owner told me that the owner of the phone is Oba.

"The following morning I went and reported to the Police B Division Station at Aroma and gave the Police my phone number. The Bar owner called me that morning and I told him that I have gone to Police station to drop the phone.

"Then a friend of mine called me telling me that someone lost his phone and I told him to tell the person to go to B Division to identify if it is his phone. The owner of the phone went to the Police Station and the Police called me and we met at the Police Station and the owner confirmed that it is his phone and that was what happened," he said.

Okpenye said that he had lost his phone before and appreciates how he feels adding that someone picked his phone and returned it back to him .

Speaking shortly after recovering his phone , Mr Tony Ezike stated that it is heart worming that good people are bound in the NIgerian society adding that for this development government and public spirited individuals should join hands to assist Okpenye to complete his education.

"Despite the situation in the country people still do good and I may not have much to offer him but I urge government and public spirited individuals to assist Okpenye to obtain his HND certificate and for him to venture into Keke business means that he is focused," he noted. .

One getting wind of this kind gesture, the National President of the Association of Non Indigenes In Anambra State ANIAS Prince Chigozie Nweke described him as God sent adding that such display of kindness should be encouraged.

"He is a good NIgerian citizen And that shows that we still have good people in this country and by the powers conferred on me as the President of Non Indigenes In Anambra state he has become the Youth leader and Ambassador of Kogi Indigenes resident in Anambra state," Nweke said.
