E-registration: Agballa, ex-Enugu Chairman revalidates APC membership
Agballa said that the previous 'war' over the control of APC state structure is over, affirming leadership of the party in Enugu state on Governor Peter Mbah
The immediate past chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Enugu state, Hon Ugochukwu Agballa has revalidated his membership of the party in the ongoing E-registration of APC membership.
Agballa was outstayed following the dissolution of the party's executive committee prelude to the entrance of Governor Peter Mbah into the APC.
Speaking, on Tuesday, at the ward revalidation center in Udi/Agbudu ward, Agballa said that the previous 'war' over the control of APC state structure is over, affirming leadership of the party in Enugu state on Governor Peter Mbah.
Agballa noted that the politics in Enugu state is without bitterness, but geared towards the interest of the party because "party is supreme."
He stated that the membership registration was critical to the APC electoral victory, announcing that any party that has 600 registrants per ward wins the election.
According to him, "Mbah has shown leadership. We are no longer fighting over structure, I was the gatekeeper fighting it must be my way and I have no regrets. Now, the big masquerade entered and the equation changed. Mbah is now the leader and he must be respected.
"We must have a credible registration because our target of two million membership in Enugu state and the only way to achieve it is by doing the registration. What is going on in Enugu is realignment, people are coming into the platform of APC."
The APC Enugu state caretaker committee chairman, Dr. Ben Nwoye disclosed that Udi local government council is leading other council areas in the state registration, while Enugu State is leading at the National level.
"Tinubu is proud of Enugu state because it's above expectation. I'm excited on what's going on with Gov Mbah taking Enugu to be the best in the state and we don't force people to register," Nwoye said.
Among those who witnessed the membership revalidation included the Speaker of Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon Uche Ugwu; Governor Peter Mbah's Special Adviser on political matters, Hon Frank Anima; members of Enugu State House of Assembly and local government chairmen.
