A pro-democracy group, Turn By Turn Initiatives has expressed dismay that the APC Campaign train led by the Ebonyi state Deputy Governor, Princess Patricia Obila, would not commission any project completed by Ishielu council chairman, Mrs Peace Agwu.
The National Convener of the group, Comrade Ben Nworie noted that it was disappointing that only Ishielu Council boss has no project to be commissioned since she assumed office for the past two years.
Comrade Nworie who was a former APC chairmanship aspirant of the council disclosed that the official manifest of the governor for the planned APC rally showed that there was no project done unlike other local government areas where projects commissioning prefixed the rally.
"It is totally disgusting and abysmal failure to note that the council chairman of Ishielu Local government area, Mrs Peace Agwu has no project to be commissioned for two years in office".
"The official manifest of Ebonyi state Governor on the planned APC rally in Ishielu LGA did not capture project commissioning, which is an indication that the council boss has not completed or embarked on any project since she assumed office".
"In all other council areas already visited, project commissioning was first event to be performed by the state Deputy governor, who is the leader of the campaign train of the APC Local government election".
"It is even more worrisome that the council chairman has concentrated on building private houses and acquiring wealths instead of channeling the council resources for public projects".
'The entire two years in office is a waste in Ishielu LGA and there's nothing to expect from her. All other first term chairmen like Afikpo and Onicha have completed gigantic projects and were commissioned during their turns of the APC rallies in their respective council areas, the group said.
He further called on all relevant agents of government to probe the financial records of Ishielu Local government and determine if the resources were legitimately utilised.
