The Chairman of Isi-Uzo Local Government Area, Hon. Barr. Obiora Obeagu, has extended warm felicitations to workers across the council area in commemoration of 2026 International Workers’ Day.

In a statement released on Friday, the chairman praised the resilience, dedication, and hard work of the people of Isi-Uzo, noting that they remain the driving force behind the growth and development of both the local government and Enugu State.

Obeagu commended a wide spectrum of workers, including civil servants, artisans, farmers, traders, security personnel, and young professionals, describing them as “the engine that keeps Isi-Uzo moving forward.”

He acknowledged the challenges faced by workers in the area and reassured them of his administration’s commitment to improving their welfare. 

According to him, efforts are ongoing to create better opportunities, enhance working conditions, and provide support systems that enable workers to thrive.

“Your efforts do not go unnoticed,” the chairman stated, emphasizing the importance of the dignity of labour and collective unity in achieving sustainable progress.

He urged residents to remain steadfast and hopeful, with a continued commitment to their duties, as the local government works towards building a more prosperous Isi-Uzo.
