Enugu Government Calls Key Stakeholders to Meeting on Market Revenue Collection

The Enugu State Government has announced plans to hold a high-level stakeholders’ meeting aimed at addressing issues surrounding revenue collection in markets across the state.

According to a public service announcement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Chidiebere Onyia, the meeting will focus on clarifying and harmonising revenue collection processes in order to improve transparency and coordination.

Those invited to the meeting include the chairmen of the 17 local government councils, traditional rulers (Igwe) of all autonomous communities, Presidents-General of the communities, the leadership of the Enugu State Markets Amalgamated Traders Association (ESMATA), and officials of the Enugu State Internal Revenue Service.

The meeting is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at the Old Government Lodge, beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Government officials emphasized the importance of the session, urging all invited stakeholders to attend promptly as discussions are expected to shape future revenue administration in the state’s markets.
