Group supports Gov Mbah, set to flag-off distribution of farming imputes in Enugu

The Ifediche Political Family operating in Enugu West Senatorial district has concluded plans for distribution of Fertilizers and Herbicides to 1,000 Rural Farmers in Support of Governor Peter Mbah’s re-election bid.

Leader of the group, Mazi Dr. Ezenwa A. A. Onyirimba, disclosed that the distribution will take place across the three local government areas of Awgu/Aninri/Oji-River Federal Constituency in the State.

The empowerment programme, organised in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, is aimed at supporting rural farmers during the farming season, improving agricultural productivity and strengthening grassroots support for the re-election of Governor Mbah for the 2027 Gubernatorial election in the state.

According to Onyirimba, the initiative is part of ongoing efforts by the Ifediche Political Family to complement the agricultural and economic development policies of the Enugu State Government, while ensuring that rural communities benefit directly from people-oriented programmes.

The event is expected to attract party stakeholders, community leaders, women groups, youth organisations, cooperative societies and farmers from the three local government areas that make up the federal constituency.

Speaking ahead of the programme, Onyirimba reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots empowerment and agricultural development, stressing that supporting farmers remains one of the most effective ways to boost food security, create economic opportunities and improve livelihoods in rural communities.

He noted that Governor Peter Mbah’s administration has continued to demonstrate visionary leadership through ongoing investments in infrastructure, education, security, agriculture and economic transformation across Enugu State.

He said that the people of Greater Awgu remain appreciative of the governor’s developmental strides.

“Our farmers deserve encouragement and support because they remain critical to food production and rural economic growth. The programme is designed to assist farmers with essential farming inputs while also demonstrating our support for the continuity of purposeful leadership and good governance under His Excellency, Barr. Dr. Peter N. Mbah,” Onyirimba stated.

He further explained that the distribution of fertilizers and herbicides would help reduce the burden on local farmers caused by the increasing cost of agricultural inputs and enable them to achieve better harvests during the farming season.

Political stakeholders in the constituency and supporters of the Ifediche Political Family described the planned empowerment programme as a major grassroots intervention that reflects Mazi Onyirimba’s dedication to the welfare of the people and his continued commitment to community development.

The programme is expected to further strengthen support for Governor Peter Mbah’s re-election project in 2027 while promoting sustainable agricultural development across Awgu, Aninri and Oji-River Federal Constituency.
