I Don't Do Drugs, "Blue Candy" Caused my Blue Tongue - Lawmaker Cries Out

A member of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Alhassan Ado Doguwa, has dismissed allegations circulating online that he was seen taking drugs or pills during a public appearance, describing the claims as false and politically motivated.

Reacting to the controversy, Doguwa denied engaging in any wrongdoing and insisted that the allegations were part of a coordinated effort by political opponents to damage his image and public reputation.

The lawmaker said the claims were being driven by individuals intent on discrediting him and undermining his standing in the political space.

“It is the work of the devil and my political enemies that claimed I was taking drugs or pills. They want to ruin my name. What was on my tongue was sweet blue candy,” he said.

In an attempt to address the controversy and clarify the situation, Doguwa reportedly demonstrated and explained what he maintained was the substance in question, insisting it was simply candy and not any prohibited substance.

The incident has generated widespread reactions across social media platforms, with Nigerians expressing differing views over the viral claims.
