IBOM AIR: Court discharges alleged unruly passenger, Emmanson

Following the Nigeria Police withdrawal of the case against the Ibom Air passenger, Comfort Emmanson the Ikeja Magistrate Court sitting in Ogba, Lagos State has discharged and acquitted her.

Emmanson was accused of unruly behaviour and assault aboard an Ibom Air flight on Sunday and was remanded in kirikri maximum correctional centre before her arraignment in the Magistrate court.

At the resumed hearing of the case, on Wednesday, the prosecution, Oluwabunmi Adeitan, informed the court that there were new developments that necessitated the withdrawal of the case.

She tendered documents to that effect and urged the court to discharge the accused person.

Consequently, Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami discharged Emmason following the withdrawal of the five court charges preferred against her by the police.

This comes hours after the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, (SAN), ordered that the case be withdrawn by the police.
