NKANU EAST: Ex-Council Chairman, Ejike Ani, resigns from PDP

Former Chairman of Nkanu East local government council, Chief Ejike Ani has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Chief Ani, a community leader was the chairman of Nkanu East council for two terms and also served as a member of the Enugu State Basic Education Board (ENSUBEB).

In his resignation letter dated September 24 2025 and addressed to the chairman of PDP, 

Amechi Idodo/Oruku Ward, Ani recalled how the party, PDP, made him politically, with not less that two political positions, but said that it was time for him to move on.

Daily Insider however gathered that Ani, the Osu Uzuzuru of Isienu- Oruku Community, may be heading for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in an apparent romance with the Minister for Innovation Science and Technology, Chief Uche Nnaji.

Ani's resignation letter reads: "I am writing to formally resign my membership of the People's Democratic Party. This decision comes after careful consideration and personal reflection.

"I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude for the support and trust I received during my tenure as the Elected Chairman of Nkanu East Local Government Council on two occasions, as well as my time as a member of the Enugu State Basic Education Board (ENSUBEB) and in other roles. It has been a privilege to serve the party and the community, and I am thankful for the valuable experiences and personal growth that have come from my involvement.

"Thank you once again for everything."
