Obollo Traditional Rulers Endorse Chimaobi Eze for House of Reps

Traditional rulers in Obollo, Udenu Local Government Area have thrown their weight behind Chimaobi Benjamin S. Eze as their candidate for the Igboeze North/Udenu Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 elections.

The endorsement came during an emergency meeting of the Obollo traditional rulers, on Saturday, where Eze informed them that he had secured the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ticket to contest the election. 

The monarchs' endorsement followed their appeal on Eze, on 6th November 2025, to consider running for office to advance the interests of Obollo and the wider constituency.

The traditional rulers praised Eze for his record of community development, citing the hotel he built in Obollo Eke to provide accommodation for visitors, noting that the town previously lacked such a facility. 

They also commended him for sponsoring training programmes, including support for a Reverend Father from the community, and for his assistance to residents regardless of family ties.

“People like you are rare,” the traditional rulers said, adding that Eze’s reputation for good character, inclusive relationships, and service in Udenu stood him out. 

They said that if other aspirants from Obollo emerge, they would compare records, but expressed doubt that anyone in the area matches Eze’s qualifications.

The Monarchs stressed that it should be Obollo’s turn to produce a federal lawmaker after Igboeze North has held the seat for more than 12 years. They prayed for God’s guidance and protection for Eze and pledged to mobilize their subjects to support him in the 2027 election.

Eze, who said he accepted the call to run based on character and capacity, will contest under the ADC for the Udenu/Igboeze North Federal Constituency.
