BREAKING: Police Arraigns Obieze, Ezeagu Suspected Native Ritual Doctor, Today

The Suspected Native Doctor who specialized in Human Rituals, from Ezeagu local government area, Chief Levi Obieze, will be arraigned in the Enugu State Magistrate Court today.

Although, the Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, Daniel Ndukwe, was unable to pick his phone for confirm the arraignment, an Enugu State government source validated the information.

According to a public announcement made in the state government's media platform, the suspected ritualist, Obieze, will be arraigned on Wednesday (Today).

The Announcement reads, "In line with Governor Peter Mbah's zero tolerance for crime in Enugu State, the suspected ritualist, Levi Obieze, will be arraigned by the police today, Wednesday, August 6. Stay tuned for details."

Recall that a Human Rights lawyer and Executive Director of Temple of Justice Foundation, Ozo Alex Amujiogu had raised the alarm on why the suspect has not been prosecuted two months after his arrest in the Nigeria Benin Republic boarder by Nigeria Immigration Service.

Amujiogu had threatened to drag the Enugu State police command to court if it fails within seven days to present before a court, the suspected ritual murder.

Amujiogu was worried that despite preliminary investigation showing claim of discovery of dead bodies of kidnap victims including a heavily pregnant woman discovered buried in Ezeani's compound and the rescue of a 13-year old girl from the scene, nothing or no meaningful legal outcome had emerged after over two months.

Amujiogu said that the prolonged detention of Ezeani in police facility without trial calls for a clear answer from the police on why investigation has not yet been completed and concluded.

He warned that the police in Enugu state must know that the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria (As Amended) under Section 36, pungently guarantees the right to fair hearing which also entails fair investigation.
