Anambra Police Command has placed officers and men on red alert in Awka Capital over reported plots to resist the report of the the Panel of enquiry into the Chieftaincy tussle in the area .
Soludo had set up a panel of enquiry into the tussle over who this the Eze Uzu of Awka Kingdom which had lingered for more than ten years between Obi Gibson Nwosu and Ozo Austin Ndigwe.
The panel in its report reaffirmed that Obi Gibson Nwosu is the Traditional Ruler of Awka Kingdom dismissing Ozo Austin Ndigwe as an interloper.
Just yesterday Soludo whole receiving the Inspector General of Police at the Light House Awka urged the Police to enforce the report in order to ensure sanity in the area .
Consequent upon this directive the Anambra Police Command has placed officers and men on red alert in order to avert actions that would lead to breakdown of law, order and public peace .
According to the statement by the Police Public Relations Officer SP Tochukwu Ikenga the respective Divisional Police Officers have been deployed for the enforcement of the panel report.
"The Anambra State Police Command, today, 20th March 2026, has observed a concerning pattern of comments and narratives following reports of the Panel of Enquiry on the Awka Traditional Stool, which may pose a threat to public peace and order"
"Consequently, the Command has placed operatives of the Anti-Cult Unit and the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Awka Sector, on alert to proactively address any potential security concerns arising from the situation"
"Additionally, all Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and their operatives across the State, especially within Awka, have intensified security surveillance, intelligence gathering, and visibility patrols to forestall any breakdown of law and order"
"To this end, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, fwc, mnips, PhD, urges all stakeholders and members of the public to exercise restraint, avoid inflammatory statements, and refrain from actions capable of inciting unrest. He emphasized that individuals or groups found engaging in acts that threaten public peace will be dealt with in accordance with the law"
"The Command remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens" the statement read.
