The Chief Executive Officer of Full Trust Nigeria Ltd, Chief Friday Nwigwe, has commended the Minister of Works, Senator David Nweze Umahi, for his intervention in the resumption of construction work on the Agbani–Ezzagu–Isu–Amasiri Road project on October 9, 2026.
Nwigwe, whose company specialises in the importation and marketing of motorcycle spare parts across West Africa, with its headquarters in Nnewi, Anambra State, described the resumption of work as a welcome development for the people of Ezzagu and neighbouring communities.
He recalled that work had earlier commenced on the road before it was subsequently suspended, leaving residents to contend with the consequences of its deplorable condition.
According to him, the road's poor state had severely disrupted economic activities in Ezzagu, while also creating serious difficulties for residents travelling to Amagunze in Enugu State and other neighbouring communities.
Nwigwe noted that the road's condition had particularly affected pregnant women and other patients who encountered difficulties accessing healthcare facilities, with some women reportedly losing their lives during childbirth because of challenges associated with reaching medical centres in time.
He said the renewed construction activities had rekindled hope among residents who had endured years of transportation difficulties, economic hardship and restricted access to essential services.
The Full Trust Nigeria Ltd boss attributed the development to Umahi's intervention and expressed appreciation for the minister's efforts towards addressing the transportation challenges confronting the area.
He maintained that the road, when completed, would improve connectivity between Ebonyi and Enugu states, facilitate the movement of people and goods, stimulate commercial activities and improve access to healthcare and other essential services.
Nwigwe also called on residents of Ezzagu to demonstrate their appreciation for the ongoing project through active civic participation and by obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the forthcoming presidential election.
He expressed the expectation that the people of Ezzagu, comprising four political wards, would use their votes to communicate their assessment of the Federal Government's intervention, particularly the renewed attention to the road project.
He specifically highlighted Ezzagu Ward II, which he described as having a substantial number of registered voters, urging eligible residents to ensure that their voter registration and PVC collection status were in order.
According to Nwigwe, the resumption of work represents an important step towards addressing a longstanding infrastructure challenge and restoring economic opportunities to the affected communities.
He urged the people to remain hopeful while calling for sustained commitment to ensure that construction continues without further interruption until the road is completed.
For the residents of Ezzagu, the renewed activity on the Agbani–Ezzagu–Isu–Amasiri Road represents more than a construction project. It offers the prospect of improved mobility, stronger commercial connections and easier access to essential services after years of hardship.
Nwigwe expressed optimism that the successful completion of the project would bring lasting benefits to Ezzagu and neighbouring communities.
