The House of Representatives member for Enugu East/Isi-Uzo federal constituency, Prof Paul Nnamchi has paid the third year tuition fees for 46 undergraduates under his scholarship since three years ago.

The Rep will also be honoured today (Saturday) with a Chieftaincy title by the traditional ruler of Ikem-Uno community in Isi-Uzo local government area, HRH, Igwe Engr. Okey Ogbodo at community primary school Ikem-Uno.

The benefiting 46 students who are part of the beneficiaries of Hon. Professor Nnamchi’s Scholarship awards received their tuitions for the next academic year during the Christmas and new year celebrations.

The students who are already in their third year in Cross River State University , Calabar Campus were full of jubilation and expressed the appreciation to the lawmaker for the opportunity offered them further their education.

Recall that Prof Nnamchi also attracted federal government scholarships for over 150 students through IJAMB, with the beneficiaries already in their second years at the Ebonyi State University (EBSU), Abakaliki.

The scholarship scheme, which has gained widespread reputation for its consistency and impact have benefited hundreds of constituents across communities in Enugu East and Isi Uzo Federal Constituency.

The disbursement of the tuition to students which was done during a well-attended medical outreach and empowerment event held at Ako-Nike was applauded by all those participating in the event.

Professor Nnamchi also used the opportunity to encourage the Constituents to Key into the Nigerian Education Loans Fund, (NELFUN) initiated by the Federal Government which has offered opportunity to Nigerians who could not afford the cost of University Education to access tertiary education.

The disbursement was met with jubilation and deep emotions, as the students, responded through their leaders expressed joy and gratitude to their benefactor, Professor Nnamchi hid continued timely interventions.

Comr. Ugwuani Sunday Victor and Miss Ezinne Eucheria Asogwa, who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries, conveyed their heartfelt appreciation for Prof. Nnamchi’s unwavering commitment to education and youth empowerment.

They highlighted the consistency of the scheme, which not only covers tuition fees but also provides stipends to support students’ academic and personal needs. 

The speakers also addressed past skepticism around the authenticity of the scholarship scheme affirming that the continued payments have proved undeniable evidence of its genuineness.

“In the next two to three years, many of us will be graduates through this same scheme that many once dismissed,” Ugwuani said.

Miss Asogwa, in an emotional tribute, thanked Hon. Prof. Nnamchi for standing by the students through each academic year and prayed for the longevity of his mandate, increased strength, and divine wisdom to continue his selfless service to his people.
