There was an uproar in Ogwu polling unit, Obollo-Afor in Udenu local government area after some thugs allegedly carted away ballot materials including BIVAS machine.
One of the presiding officers, an NYSC member told our reporter that some thugs came at about 12noon, shot guns and collected every of the materials and disappeared.
Residents of the area pointed accusing fingers on a commissioner in the state from the area as mastermind of the incident.
When newsmen arrived, both the deputy governor of the state, Ifeanyi Ossai, the commissioner and numerous other state government officials were seen harassing the PDP members in the area who accused the commissioner of the instigating the violence.
Men of security agencies gathered in the place but found no solution to the problem.
Speaking to newsmen after, the deputy governor said the polling unit was the only area where there was report of violence and expressed confidence in continuation of the voting exercise.
