The halls of the Enugu South Local Government headquarters in Uwani buzzed with political energy on Wednesday as the Enugu State Unity Forum formally inaugurated its local government and 13 ward executives — a move aimed at cementing grassroots support for Governor Peter Mba ahead of 2027.

The ceremony, hosted on behalf of Enugu South LGA Chairman Dr. Caleb Onyema Ani by his Special Personal Adviser on Political Matters, Hon. Chijioke Agbo, brought together state and local executives of the pro-Mbah support group for a swearing-in ceremony focused on strengthening the governor’s base at the ward level.

Delivering Ani’s remarks, Agbo thanked Governor Mba for what he called “people-centered leadership and visible development strides” across Enugu State, noting the governor’s commitment to inclusive governance in Enugu South.

“This inauguration is a call to duty,” Agbo told the newly sworn-in executives. “You are now the ambassadors of this administration at the ward level. Your responsibility is to engage our people, promote the achievements of government, and ensure that every citizen in Enugu South feels the impact of good governance. Let us work together to secure a resounding mandate for 2027.”

Performing the inauguration, the Coordinator of EUF in Enugu East Senatorial zone, Dr. Chukwuemeka Nwatu, who was represented by the zonal deputy coordinator, Hon. Robert Alum, described the forum as a strategic platform for political continuity.

“Our mission is to campaign, to engage, and to ensure that the people of Enugu East senatorial zone speak with one voice in 2027 — a voice of support for Governor Peter Mba and for the leadership of Dr. Caleb Onyema Ani in Enugu South,” he said.

Prof. Ifeanyi Odoziobodo, the coordinator of the Isi-Uzo LGA chapter of the forum, hailed Mba’s administration for fostering balanced development and unity across the state. He pointed to new roads, strengthened institutions, and expanded opportunities for youths as evidence of a participatory, forward-looking government.

“Today’s inauguration is a testament to that,” Odoziobodo said. “As coordinators, we carry the mandate to take this message to every corner of our communities and to mobilize our people for sustained progress.”

Comrade Dennis Agbo, the zonal publicity secretary, stressed the importance of communication in shaping the administration’s narrative.

“The Enugu State Unity Forum will serve as the voice of the people and the messenger of truth,” he said.

“While critics may seek to sow division, the evidence of development is undeniable. Our role is to protect the narrative, promote the governor’s vision, and ensure that the momentum built today translates into victory in 2027.”

Newly inaugurated Enugu South coordinator Mike Okwo pledged the loyalty of all 13 wards to the forum’s mission. “We stand united, and we stand ready,” Okwo declared. “Our wards will serve as the foundation of this movement. We will mobilize, we will sensitize, and we will deliver support for Governor Peter Mba and for our chairman, Dr. Caleb Onyema Ani, in the next election cycle.”

The event closed with a collective call for peace, grassroots engagement, and continued backing for the administration’s development agenda.
