Enugu ex-Assembly candidates commend APC's choice of Nwoye as state chairman

The Forum of former House of Assembly Candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu state, have commended the National Working Committee of the party for bringing back Dr. Ben Nwoye as the chairman of the party in the state.

Nwoye was the former Chairman of the APC in the state. He retook the party on Thursday following the dissolution of the state working committee of the party previously led by Ugo Agballa.

The former candidates of the party in the 2023 general elections stated that they were glad that the NWC finally arrested the drift that became the lot of the party in Enugu state under the Agballa-led executive, by dissolving them.

The forum said it was further gratified by the quality of persons appointed to constitute the caretaker committee, ranging from the chairman, Dr. Ben Nwoye (the Archbishop), Rt. Hon. Eugene Odo (the secretary), Dr. C. N. Nwafor, Dr. Oby Ajih (the woman Jagaban), Peter Chime (the Youth leader), our colleague, Engr. Obinna Ekeh and the Amazon from Abor, HE, Ambassador Akuabata Njeze.These are tested people with proven commitment to the ideals of the party.

The forum congratulated the committee members on their well deserved appointment, especially the chairman and the secretary, who they said were generals in the struggle to free the party from external stranglehold.

"We have no doubt that the members of the committee will turn the party away from the abyss where the dissolved executive was drifting it into.

"The forum further pledges its loyalty and support to the caretaker committee and urges all APC members in Enugu state to support the committee for a better and election winning APC in Enugu state. Our party is back on track," the forum members stated.

Godwin Onwusi- Coordinator.(Udi-North state constituency; Ikeokwu Ikechukwu Alexander-Isi-Uzo State Constituency; Engr. Steve Okenwa- Uzo-uwani State Constituency; Chinedu Eneh- Enugu South 1 State Constituency; Barr. Ejike Ajana- Oji-River State Constituency and Ndubuisi Jennifer-Awgu North State Constituency.

Others are, Barr. Peter O. Ugwu-Nsukka West State Constituency; Hillary Uchenna Odo-Igbo- Etiti East; Chukwu Daniel Uzoigwe-Aninri state constituency; Amechi Okpaku- Ezeagu State Constituency and Obodoechina Bernard-Nsukka East state constituency.
