The Asiwaju Renewed Mandate South East (ARMSE) has disclosed that the reelection of Governor Peter Mbah for a second term is the only guarantee for continuation of the existing rotation of governorship position among the three Senatorial districts in Enugu state.

The group said that anything in the contrary that will make Peter Mbah not to complete two terms in office will disrupt the governorship rotation and bring about political instability in the state.

ARMSE made the disclosure when it visited the former deputy governor of Enugu State, Mrs. Cecilia Ezeilo in her Enugu residence.

Leader of ARMSE, Denge Josef Onoh who also is the Chairman of the Forum of Former Members of Enugu State House of Assembly noted that the forum was the first in Nigeria to produced it's member as a deputy governor.

He said that President Bola Tinubu mandated the group to campaign for him (Tinubu) and for Governor Peter Mbah at the same time and to deliver Mbah for a second term in office.

"We are part of the City Boys Movement and we are also village boys. We are for equity and Justice and fairness. We look at the benefit of democracy for humanity," Onoh said.

He traced the trajectory of governorship in Enugu state zonal rotation, drawing the analysis to the present period of preparation for 2027 which he said it is the turn of Enugu East zone to retain governorship of the state.

He pointed at the danger of electing any other Governor outside Peter Mbah and it's potential collateral damage for every other zone in the state.

"None of them from Enugu East Senatorial zone who is aspiring for governorship will win and not go for another term which will disrupt the rotation understanding in the state. The consequences is that a child born today will become 12 years when they finish second term and Nsukka zone will wait much longer again for the power to be shifted to that zone, same as Enugu West.

"So it's not about selfishness but for the good of the state and avoidance of such consequence. That is why we are here to solicit your support and to spread the message for the reelection of Governor Peter Mbah."

Responding , the immediate past deputy governor of the state, Mrs Ezeilo has declared that Enugu State will not be intimidated by the formation of of the "Village Boys" by the opposition political parties.

The "Village Boys" is the creation of the Obident movement, a support group of Mr. Peter Obi who a presidential aspirant in the African Democratic Congress, ADC.

The Village Boys was formed to counter the "City Boys Movement", a second term campaign group for President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

But addressing the Asiwaju Renewed Mandate South East, Ezeilo stated that the people of Enugu State has gone beyond any form of hurricane by the opposition parties.

She said that Governor Peter Mbah deserves a second term as much President Bola Tinubu based on their performance indices.

Ezeilo said: "I appreciate the motive behind the message which is equity, but beyond equity Governor Peter Mbah has done well in Infrastructure, health, education and many others. If we begin to count them, it is obvious that he deserves a second time.

"This visit shows that your group wants to appreciate justice and you should keep it up and nobody will intimidate us with the village boys."
