Elders and stakeholders drawn from the eleven wards of Isi Local Government Area at the weekend paid a solidarity visit to Hon. Professor Paul Sunday Nnamchi at his country home in Ako-Nike, endorsing his second term bid.
They described him as an outstanding legislator who has lifted Enugu East/Isi Uzo Federal Constituency through effective representation in the National Assembly with enviable strides in his legislative duties especially the sponsorship of impactful bills and motions.
In less than three years, Professor Nnamchi has brought great honors to the constituency, including the Federal Government's approval for the establishment of the Federal University of Agriculture, Ako-Nike. This followed his sponsored bill, a significant landmark effort that would put the constituency on the global map.
Other initiatives cited include his pursuit to upgrade Eha-Amufu College of Education to a Federal University of Education, awarding tertiary scholarships to indigent students, providing solar street lights, sponsoring medical outreaches, and training secondary students on information and computer technology (ICT) yearly.
Prominent stakeholders, including Chief Leonard Agboeze (Onowu Mbuezutashi), Hon. David Nnabuike Ede, Pastor Paul Madu, Chief Joel Odo, Chief Gabriel Eze, and others, urged Professor Nnamchi to prepare for a second term to conclude the works he had started in the current Assembly.
They cited his pending bills for the establishment of Federal College of Health Technology, Mbu, Federal College of Entrepreneurship Studies, Ikem, Dry Port Emene, Federal College for gifted children at Trans-Ekulu and the conversion of the the moribund information and computer technology hub at Ugwogo Nike which was attracted by Senator Gil Nnaji to Federal College of Robotic Engineering.
Professor Nnamchi expressed humility and gratitude, assuring them he would consider their request and consult with party faithfuls, guided by his commitment to serving the people of Enugu East/Isi Uzo with an open mind.
