Why Nkanu West is home of Enugu Unity Forum - J C Ogbodo

The Chairman of Nkanu West local government council, Hon John Chukwuma Ogbodo, has stated that if there is any other local government where the Governor Perter Mbah reelection support group should thrive better, it's in Nkanu West local government area.

Ogbodo made the statement, on Wednesday, during the inauguration of the local government and 14 wards executive of Enugu State Unity Forum (EUF) for the council area.

Ogbodo said it is because the Peter Mbah administration made the people of Nkanu West heave a sigh of relief from banditry that was prevalent in the area through the unknown gunmen nusiamces before Mbah's assumption of office in May 2023.

"Gov Mbah eliminated unknown gunmen from Nkanu West local government area. Peter Mbah is a good product that sells itself, particularly on security. Unknown gunmen had frightened us but it has now been stabilized since Mbah came in.

"On smart schools, one has started in in Nkanu West and anyone whose child is not there is missing in action. We cannot rest until Mbah is given the mandate for a second term. We must support the Governor because he is our own. We cannot be the problem, we are talking about other parts of the state. You are in the right place and you should count yourself lucky. Those who don't have voter's card should endeavor to go and get it. The registration is on now," Ogbodo told the inaugurated wards executive.

The zonal Coordinator of EUF in Enugu East Senatorial zone, Dr. Chukwuemeka Nwatu said that the support group was not about sharing inducements, but about working for the reelection of Gov Mbah after which more dividends of his governance would be obtained.

"So your work is to go to the hinterlands and preach the good works of the governor who has projects in all the wards. At the same time the local government Chairman is working in the council with water projects, environmental and sanitation jobs. You can see that fences are going on in all smart schools and type 2 health centers," Dr. Nwatu said.

Nwatu took time to enumerate the developmental projects on ground across the state by Governor Mbah led administration such as the renovation of Hotel Presidential, Niger Gas, Holy Ghost bus terminal and other numerous projects in Enugu East Senatorial zone with 77 wards.

"The completion of International Conference Center, ongoing construction of International Hotel, ongoing Amodu - Akpugo - Akpwfu - Amagunze road and construction of 260 Green Smart Schools and Type 2 Primary Healthcare Centers across the state amongst other life changing projects of the governor."

Dr. Nwatu described Nkanu West LG chairman, Hon. John Chukwuma Ogbodo as a dedicated person who has the interest of his people at heart which he said is demonstrated in the many projects so far done in the council area by the "silent achiever."

He said that Hon. Ogbodo has ensured that the road is clean and neat, painted the road cabs, he also built modern abbatior (slaughter house) at Eke Agbani market, remodeled Ozalla Four Corners Motor Park, drilling of boreholes in many places and perimeter fencing of Green Smart Schools in the council area, a show that he is following the foot print of Governor Peter Mbah.

"What's why we said that we should be proud for all our votes to go to Peter Mbah. Please go back to your wards with this message of good gospel. From January, taxes bill be reviewed. Voter's card are very important. The registration is ongoing and it's important we register. 

Speaking on behalf of the Inaugurated wards executive, Hon. Anene Nnamani the coordinator of Akegbe Ugwu ward said they were happy and pledge that with the trust reposed on them in their various ward to go and preach the gospel of Peter Mbah whose jobs are open and are all seeing them.

Chief Ike Okeke, the coordinator Nkanu West EUF said, "We can't talk everything that the Governor is doing because he is a good product. Our chairman is a grassroot chairman. He is available to all at all time. He has shown service and should be returned for a second term as well.
