PDP Announces Plans Amid Internal Crisis
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has also adopted a timetable for its 2027 activities, though full details are pending.
The party has faced internal divisions between factions linked to figures such as Tanimu Turaki and Nyesom Wike, with ongoing court cases over party control.
Despite this, the PDP’s National Executive Committee claims the crisis is over, describing the party as “strong, united and formidable.” It emphasized reconciliation, adherence to INEC guidelines, and internal reforms like electronic membership registration.
However, critics within the party dismissed the NEC meeting as illegitimate, deepening internal tensions.
ADC Considers Consensus Candidate
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) says it is working toward selecting its 2027 presidential candidate through consensus.
Spokesman Bolaji Abdullahi noted that consensus is cheaper and preferred, although direct primaries remain an option.
