BREAKING: Ebonyi Airport Resumes Operation August 19, concludes Airfield lighting

Ebonyi State government at the weekend said that the installation and hooking up of airfield lighting to electricity is on the fast lane, and as a result, will resume flights lifting at the Chuba Okadigbo international Airport Onueke on 19th August, 2025.

The commissioner for Aviation and transport technology, Mrs Ngozi Obichukwu made the disclosure in a statement released to newsmen in Abakaliki.

She emphasized that the expert in airfield lighting installation/ connection and other engineers handling the project are on the fast lane, trying to conclude the airfield lighting connection within two weeks.

The commissioner, however, urged Air -travellers, especially those customers from Ugep, Obubra, Itigidi, Boki (in Cross River State), Okigwe in Imo state and all the environs and other parts of Abia state, Abuja and Lagos to purchase their tickets and fly through the Chuba Okadigbo airport Onueke, Ezza South LGA.

The statement reads in part: "The expert in airfield lighting system installation and other engineers handling this project are very very on the fast lane trying to maximize two weeks to conclude the installation and hooking up of the airfield lighting system to electricity/ powerhouse.

"As a result of the above, we shall resume our usual flight lifting on 19th, August, 2025. We urge our esteemed customers to purchase their tickets and fly through the UNITED NIGERIA AIRLINE to Chuba Okadigbo international Airport Onueke Ezza South LGA.

"The UNITED NIGERIA AIRLINE flys Abuja to Abakaliki and Abakaliki to Abuja, likewise from Lagos to Abakaliki and Abakaliki to Lagos." she informed.
