Coal City capital of Enugu State is set to host the first ever Ethereum Conference in Nigeria, ETH Enugu ’25.

ETH Enugu ’25 which redefines the Tech Landscape is scheduled to last for two weeks, August 4 to August 16, and would be a

first-of-its-kind experience that fuses tech, culture, and community like never before.

According to the organizers, the conference is a new blueprint for how ecosystems take root, grow, and thrive across Africa hence, the Coal City would over the course of two weeks, "transform into a living hub for builders and dreamers, hosting the nation’s very first Builder Residency, Pop-up City Hackathon, and Ethereum Conference — all rolled into one bold experiment in decentralized co-creation."

ETH '25, shaping up to be one of the most international Web3 gatherings on the continent, is already drawing a Global Crowd Builders from across the world with attendees from Nigeria, Ghana, Togo, Kenya, Uganda, the U.S., Canada and Colombia, confirmed.

The organizers disclosed that "ETH Enugu '25 is designed around a simple but powerful idea: what happens when you bring builders together in a focused, collaborative environment and let them live, build, and share for two straight weeks?"

Speaking on the event, Leader of ETH Enugu and a longtime builder in Nigeria’s crypto space, Okoye Kevin Chibuoyim, also known as Ezemmuo Blockchain, said, “This isn’t mine alone. It belongs to everyone building for the future of Ethereum in Africa.

"This isn’t just another Web3 meetup. This is an invitation to imagine what’s possible — when protocol meets people, and when local ecosystems are treated as launchpads, not footnotes."

According to him, from August 4 – 15,

"Fifty selected developers, creators, researchers, and designers from across Africa and beyond will live and build together in Enugu. For two weeks, they’ll explore new Ethereum frontiers, co-create protocols, test ideas, and form lasting collaborations - supported by daily workshops,

mentorship, and co-working spaces.

This is where visions take shape and ship.

"The city becomes part of the experience. Co-living, co-working, local meetups,

spontaneous jams, dev hangouts, cultural exchanges - Enugu & South East Nigeria becomes a blockchain-native city. Every part of the Pop-up City is designed to mimic what a vibrant, onchain ecosystem could feel like IRL - full of people, purpose, and protocol. Over 200+ participants are expected daily.

"The Ethereum Conference (Aug 16). The grand finale. A full-day conference packed with protocol deep-dives, research showcases,

founder panels, cultural sessions, and project demos. Over 1,000 attendees — including

developers, founders, researchers, ecosystem leads, and onchain communities — will converge to celebrate the past two weeks and look ahead to Ethereum’s future in Africa.

"Home to the Ethereum Research Village

At the heart of it all is the Ethereum Research Village (ERV) — a space for deep technical

exchange, real-time experimentation, and localized research. It's where protocol meets purpose. Alongside it is a community-powered pop-up city hackathon focused on building usable, locally relevant Ethereum tools and applications."
