Ogala places caveat emptor on Ufu Elugu Ezike-Oba Land

The Igbo Eze North Local Government council of Enugu State, has warned mischief makers to steer clear of Ufu Elugu Ezike-Oba Land and allow peace to rain in the area.

The Executive Chairman of the council, Chief Uche Michael Ogala, made this known during a joint security meeting with the elders in Council of Enugu Ezike (the Ish-Ama) and the Ufu Elugu Ezike-Oba Land committee, where they analyzed the recent unauthorized movement at the Ufu Elugu Ezike-Oba Land that involved Igbo Eze North Youths.

The Chairman, represented by the Chief Security officer of the Local Government Mr Okechukwu Ali, warned the trouble makers/land grabbers who disguise in the name of Igbo Eze North Youths to to desist from going to Ufu Elugu Ezike-Oba Land as Land matters are exclusive reserve of the Elders in Council and that of the Enugu Ezike will not be different.

The Chairman further advised those who wants to know more about their community land at Ufu Elugu Ezike-Oba Land to approach their Village Elders so that the elders will follow the legal measures by applying to the Onyeish and the Elders in Council of Enugu Ezike who will call on the Ufu Elugu Ezike-Oba Land Committee to do the needful since the entire land has been shared among Villages in the past.

In an opening remark, The oldest man in Enugu Ezike (the Onyeish) Agu Silas Eze-Okpe noted that the Chairman's intervention is timely as Enugu Ezike can not afford to go into any form of crisis again and warned the Youths to stay away from the Ufu Elugu Ezike-Oba Land as the only people the elders mandated to handle the affairs of the Ufu Elugu Ezike-Oba Land are the land committee headed by His Royal Majesty Igwe Simion Osisi Itodo, the Eze Oha one of Essodo.

The Onyeish also called on the security agencies to be on the watch out as those who violate the orders of the elders in council are the real enemies of Enugu Ezike.

In their separate speeches, the Chairman Ufu Elugu Ezike-Oba Land committee His Royal Majesty Igwe Simion Osisi Itodo and the Secretary Nze Chidi Nwaome thanked the Onyeish Ezike Oba Agu Silas Eze-Okpe and the elders in council for the trust bestowed on their committee and assured the people of Enugu Ezike that all the land as shared per village are intact and appreciated the Local Government Chairman Chief Uche Michael Ogala for his efforts in bringing permanent peace in Enugu Ezike.

They further assured the Village heads of their cooperation any time they need their assistance to ensure that peace rain among the land owners at Ufu Elugu Ezike-Oba.

Our Correspondent who was at the meeting reports that meeting ended peacefully as all the participants alongside the Local Government Chairman for his outstanding performance and also for quick intervention in the matter to prevent break law and order.
