A support group within the All Progressives Congress (APC), operating under the banner Move Forward with Nentawe, has called for the renomination of the party’s National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, at the party’s forthcoming national convention.
The group’s convener, Ezenwa A. A. Onyirimba, said Prof. Yilwatda has exhibited commendable leadership qualities within the short period since assuming office, describing his performance as both impactful and reassuring for the party’s future.
In a statement issued Tuesday in Abuja, the group urged Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other key stakeholders in the APC to support Yilwatda’s renomination, stressing that continuity in leadership would further stabilize and strengthen the ruling party.
The statement characterized Yilwatda as a “seasoned developer, visionary leader, and tested technocrat,” adding that his leadership has positioned the APC for sustained growth and electoral success. According to the group, retaining him as chairman would enhance the party’s chances of victory in the 2027 general elections.
Onyirimba disclosed that the advocacy group has commenced nationwide consultations and stakeholder engagements aimed at galvanizing support for Yilwatda ahead of the convention.
He expressed confidence that the chairman’s leadership capacity would ensure cohesion within the party and secure electoral victory for President Tinubu in 2027.
Reaffirming its commitment to unity and credible leadership, the group maintained that Yilwatda’s continued stewardship would consolidate the APC’s achievements, strengthen internal stability, and sustain its progressive agenda.
