The South East Zone of the National Youth Council of Nigeria has inaugurated the Forum of South East Affiliated National Youth Organizations to strengthen youth coordination and development across the region.
Sir Arthur Obiora was appointed Patron of the Forum during the ceremony held on June 7, 2026, at Anzeel Hotel and Suites in Awka. Sunny Odogwu emerged as Chairman, while Emeka Atuanya, Esq., was named Secretary. Representatives of 37 affiliated national youth organizations attended the inauguration.
The event featured a keynote lecture on youth participation in governance and national development by Ambassador Chibuzor Ekwenye, who also raised concerns about insecurity in the South East and called for urgent government action.
The Forum unanimously passed a Vote of Confidence on the National Executive Council led by Ambassador Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo, commending its commitment to youth development and institutional stability.
In a communiqué issued after the meeting, the Forum urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intensify efforts to safeguard lives and property, and called on the Independent National Electoral Commission to ensure a free, fair, and peaceful 2027 general election.
