How did APC score above registered voters - Rufai Oseni queries FCT election results
Oseni questioned how the APC recorded 1,212 votes in a polling unit with 345 registered voters, 213 accredited voters, and 213 ballots issued
Rufai Oseni, the Arise News anchor has queried how the All Progressives Congress (APC) in a particular unit in the FCT Area Council election was able to score more that the total number of registered voters in that polling unit.
In a post through his X handle, Oseni criticised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after results from a registered polling unit showed major discrepancies in the voting figures.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) won five of the six chairmanship seats while the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, won one Area Council.
Oseni questioned how the APC recorded 1,212 votes in a polling unit with 345 registered voters, 213 accredited voters, and 213 ballots issued.
Oseni wrote: “Registered voters: 345 Total no. Of accredited voters: 213 Total no. Of ballots issued: 213 Total no. Of unused ballots: 132. Spoilt ballots: Nil. Rejected ballots: 2. Total votes cast: 213. Total VALID VOTES: 211. APC scored 1212 votes in the same unit. Origirigi”
This is as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, said that the outcome of Saturday’s area council elections reflects President Bola Tinubu’s visionary leadership.
