The Ugbabe clan in Obollo, Udenu local government area, has declared full support for its son, High Chief Chimaobi Benjamin S. Eze, as the candidate for the House of Representatives in the 2027 National Assembly election.

Eze is the candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the Igboeze North/Udenu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

At the meeting initiated by the Enugu Branch of Ugbabe Patriots and attended by the seven autonomous communities that make up Ugbabe, the clan head, Pa Ugwuaba Micus, said it was the turn of Udenu LGA and Ugbabe in particular to produce a representative.

The clan also made demand for immediate improved infrastructure in Obollo areas, stressing deteriorated roads in the areas.

“Chief Chimaobi Eze is the true son of Ugbabe. We have been kind, supporting people from other clans and communities in different elections. Now, others should support our own son for the position of House of Representatives,” Pa Micus told the crowd.

The clan head urged all sons, daughters, wives, in-laws and well-wishers of Ugbabe to rally behind Eze. He also directed that Eze be taken to other communities to deliver his message ahead of the election.

The eldest man in the clan offered prayers for Eze’s protection and success, saying it is his wish to witness Eze’s victory in his lifetime.

Speeches by the Oziokos and Oha highlighted years of neglect in infrastructure development across Ugbabe communities, with speakers lamenting the lack of basic facilities.

The event was attended by ADC governorship candidate, His Excellency Obodoeze Ocho, who received the clan head’s blessing and that of his subjects. Ocho promised to make Ugbabe’s requests a priority if elected governor of Enugu State.
