Nigeria Creative group tours Canada, to showcase rich artistry
The festival will showcase talents across key sectors of the creative economy, including fashion, music, film and television, visual arts, creative technology, theatre and live performance
Cities of Toronto, Brampton and Mississauga in Canada are set to host some of Africa’s finest talents in music, art, theatre, fashion and other creative fields during a month-long cultural celebration.
The event, AfroVisionX 2026, will bring together creatives and participants from 36 African countries for a series of performances, exhibitions and discussions.
Scheduled to run from June 1 to June 30, 2026, the festival will showcase talents across key sectors of the creative economy, including fashion, music, film and television, visual arts, creative technology, theatre and live performance.
AfroVisionX 2026 will convene creatives, designers, filmmakers, musicians, performing artists, cultural institutions, investors, and members of the African diaspora.
Beyond entertainment, the platform is expected to strengthen trade, tourism, cultural diplomacy and creative industry collaboration between Africa, the Caribbean and Canada.
Nigeria, widely recognised as a global driver of music, fashion, film and cultural exports, is expected to play a major role in shaping the impact of the festival.
The event is produced globally by Grandieu Inc. and powered in Nigeria by Inspiro Productions, positioning AfroVisionX 2026 as a world-class cultural and economic platform spanning fashion, film, music, theatre, visual arts and creative exchange.
The festival will culminate in a prestigious awards gala to recognise outstanding contributors and supporters of the rapidly expanding global creative economy.
Speaking at the unveiling and launch of the event at Terra Kulture, the Convener, David Bebiem, said AfroVisionX aims to ignite a global movement and open a gateway between Africa and the rest of the world.
According to him, the initiative was born out of the realisation that Africa possesses immense talent, ideas and culture but lacks a coordinated global platform to showcase its creative strength and economic potential.
“AfroVisionX is committed to presenting African and Caribbean creativity at world-class levels. Nigeria is not just participating; Nigeria is leading this global moment,” he said.
Founder of Inspiro Productions, Ayoola Sadare, described the initiative as a major global marketplace opportunity for Nigerian creatives.
“We are mobilising brands, institutions, creators and government stakeholders to fully leverage the opportunities around Canada 2026,” he said.
“We will show the world that Africa is not just a source of raw materials but also a source of ideas, culture, innovation and global leadership.”
Also speaking, Chairman of the Creative and Entertainment Sector of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Obukome Elaine Ibru-Mukoro, urged government and investors to recognise the huge economic potential of the entertainment industry.
“We have what can create jobs and wealth for Nigerians. AfroVisionX has the potential to expose Nigeria and Africa to the world,” she said.
