Ńkàtá Ụ́mụ̀ Íbè to re-anchor the Ìgbò identity through storytelling

The Center for Memories, a socio-cultural Igbo promotion center has concluded arrangements for the lecture on how to stabilize Igbo identity through story telling.
Centre for Memories (CFM) is dedicated to documenting and preserving Igbo memories, history, and culture, aiming to inform and empower leaders to serve with excellence and integrity. Their programs include Nkata Umu Ibe, a monthly speaker series discussing critical issues affecting the Igbo community. It does creative arts workshops on music, and other creative activities.
In it's scheduled July 2025 edition of Ńkàtá Ụ́mụ̀ Íbè, holding as a special event within the Things Fall Apart Festival 2025, the month’s conversation is themed: ỤNỌ KA: Things Fall Apart When Stories Are Lost – Reimagining Ala Ìgbò through Cultural Memory.
Renowned filmmaker, cultural curator, and Festival Director of the Eastern Nigeria International Film Festival, Obianujuaku Akukwe, will be the distinguished speaker to lead in a thought-provoking exploration of how Ndigbo can reclaim and re-anchor the Ìgbò identity through storytelling, indigenous knowledge systems, and cultural memory.
It takes place on Friday, July 4th by 4:00PM at Centre for Memories, Awgu Street, Off Umuoji Street, Independence Layout, Enugu.
