Traditional Rulers prayed, didn't endorse me - Eze
Eze described the report as a misrepresentation of what took place in his meeting with the community leaders
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) House of Representatives candidate for Igboeze North/Udenu Federal Constituency, Chief Benjamin Chimaobi Eze has refuted a report suggesting that traditional rulers and some community representatives from Obollo in Udenu local government area endorsed his candidature.
Eze described the report as a misrepresentation of what took place in his meeting with the community leaders.
"What took place was that the traditional rulers prayed for me and blessed my aspiration to represent them in the National Assembly. It was not a case of endorsement," Eze stated.
He noted that his meeting with the Obollo traditional rulers, on Saturday, was to inform them that he had secured the ADC ticket to contest the election.
He further recalled that the Monarchs praised his record of community development, citing his hospitality investment to upscale development in Obollo-Eke.
He said that they also commended him for sponsoring training programmes, including support for a Reverend Father from the community, and for his assistance to residents regardless of family ties.
“The traditional rulers said that people like me are rare and that my reputation is good. They said that if other aspirants from Obollo emerge, they would compare records. They prayed for God’s guidance and protection on me and pledged to mobilize their subjects for the 2027 elections," Eze said
